SSP Green Space Restoration and Enrichment Project: Enriching Green Areas
Share:
Target Operations: Group companies with operational sites in Thailand. Objective: To promote, develop, and expand green spaces within the Group’s premises, aiming for “Sustainable Environmentally Friendly Growth.”
Strategy: “POWERING a GREENER SSP FORESTRY”
1. Expansion of Green Spaces and Carbon Sequestration
Increase tree planting initiatives within and surrounding power plant boundaries.
Assess opportunities for Carbon Credit generation through reforestation and afforestation projects.
2. Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Restoration
Promote the cultivation of native tree species to bolster local ecosystems. Species selection is conducted based on expert recommendations from provincial nurseries under the Ministry of Agriculture, ensuring environmental suitability and socio-ecological benefits.
Strictly avoid Invasive Alien Species (IAS) to prevent long-term ecological imbalances.
Conduct wildlife population monitoring to maintain natural equilibrium.
3. Sustainable Land Use and Responsible Forestry Management
Implement land management frameworks designed to prevent deforestation.
Enhance soil health and conserve watershed areas through strategic reforestation.
Prioritize eco-friendly materials in the Company’s construction and infrastructure projects.
4. Community Engagement and Environmental Education
Collaborate with schools, community groups, and business partners to host tree-planting activities.
Provide training for employees and local communities on sustainable forestry practices, raising awareness about forest conservation as a critical tool for Climate Change Mitigation.
Establish the "Green Ambassador" program to champion environmental stewardship.
