Integrated Activities for the "White Factory and Safe Community: United Against Drugs" Initiative

(A Journey Toward Employee Well-being and Community Smiles)

At Sermsang Power Plant in Lopburi Province, we firmly believe that "our people" are the most fundamental pillar of the organization, while "the youth" are the new heartbeat driving society forward. Because the threat of narcotics does not just affect individuals; it poses a direct risk to workplace safety and compromises the quality of life for families in the surrounding communities.

On Friday, June 26, 2026, the Safety Officer Department, led by Mr. Suwan Boonreeran, launched a campaign marking International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The initiative aimed to turn genuine concern into concrete action, blending internal organizational safety efforts with community outreach.

From Power Plant Fences to Community Classrooms: A story of unity and collaboration woven through two key activities

Securing the "White Factory," Safeguarding Workers' Wellbeing

The journey began within the operations area of the Lopburi Power Plant, where the safety team mobilized a total of 44 employees, technicians, and workers to collaboratively build a safe working environment under the concept of a "Drug-Free White Factory."

We do not view drug screenings through urine tests merely as a legal obligation. Instead, we intend to use this opportunity as an open space for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and health education. This ensures everyone can perform their duties with peace of mind, maintaining both physical and mental well-being, which directly mitigates the risk of workplace accidents. This activity represents a genuine collective effort of our people to deliver sustainable trust and confidence.

Passing on the Shield of Protection, Nurturing the Dreams of Youth

Real safety must extend outward into wider society. On the morning of the same day, a team of 19 safety members and employee volunteers traveled to Ban Wang Khon Khwang School to provide a shield of protection for 135 primary school students (Grades 1–6).

The memorable event kicked off with a campaign parade joined by the school faculty to raise awareness in the broader community. This was followed by a training session focused on developing strict "Refusal Skills" when approached with drugs—a vital life skill for children today. The company also organized recreational Q&A sessions and provided delicious snacks to spread joy and create lasting, positive memories for the youth.

Shared Success and Mutual Value

Driven by true commitment, this project has delivered tangible and sustainable outcomes across all dimensions:

  • Value to Employees: Elevating workplace safety, improving employees' physical and mental health, significantly reducing absenteeism and tardiness, and minimizing accident risks. This directly enhances the operational efficiency of the power plant.
  • Value to the Community: Students gained a proper understanding of the dangers of drugs and learned practical coping strategies to resist temptation. Furthermore, this initiative fosters a network of youth leaders in the school, sustainably reducing the likelihood of new drug users emerging in the Lopburi community.

Next Steps for the Future

The commitment of SSP does not end with the conclusion of this event. To ensure long-term continuity, the Safety Team plans to maintain regular communication and ongoing education through multiple channels for both employees and community members. Moving forward, we intend to expand and integrate this safety and health knowledge into other Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, building a society that grows together safely and happily.
