SSP, Sermsang Power Corporation Public Company Limited, a leading renewable energy producer in Thailand, has been selected as one of the top 10 pilot organizations nationwide to participate in the "Climate Action Leading Organization (CALO)" project. This initiative is organized by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO) with support from the Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS). The CALO project aims to empower Thai organizations to effectively manage their internal carbon emissions and elevate them to become "leaders of change" in tangible greenhouse gas reduction.
The Beginning of a Transition Towards a Low-Carbon Future
Being chosen for the CALO project marks a significant step forward for SSP, underscoring its commitment to achieving Net Zero Emissions. This involves developing systematic practices for measuring, controlling, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. SSP is not only focused on producing clean energy but also on considering every process, from upstream to downstream in its business value chain. This approach is anchored in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, aiming to minimize environmental impact and foster long-term sustainable growth.
Laying the Foundation for a Low-Carbon Organization
On July 16, 2025, SSP held its first in-depth consultation session under the CALO project. The event was honored by the expertise of specialists from the Center of Excellence for Eco-Energy (CEEE), Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University:
They provided technical knowledge, analyzed the organizational structure, and outlined the methodology for preparing the Carbon Footprint of Organization (CFO), establishing a foundation for effective future greenhouse gas reduction targets. Eighteen participants from various departments across the organization attended the activity, divided into three main groups:
The atmosphere was conducive to knowledge exchange, real-data analysis, and collaborative planning for verifiable and measurable carbon reduction targets. Towards the end of the session, Ms. Sudarat Meechai, Sustainability & ESG Manager representing SSP, presented souvenirs to the CEEE consulting team in appreciation of their collaboration on this critical mission.
SSP's Role as a Leader in Sustainable Clean Energy
Participation in the CALO project is more than just responding to global climate change trends; it represents "concrete action" that reflects SSP's genuine commitment to being an integral part of the transition to a Low-carbon Society. SSP remains dedicated to elevating environmental standards while simultaneously creating shared value with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
