Elevating Social Investment Standards via SIF: Quantifying the True Social Value of the "Light for Life" Project

In 2025, the Company collaborated with the Thaipat Institute to implementing the Corporate Social Impact Footprint (SIF) assessment tool for the ‘Light for Life – Clean Energy for a Sustainable Future’ project. This assessment benchmarks against the global GRI Standards and adheres to Social Return on Investment (SROI) principles to transform abstract outcomes into tangible, measurable value.

SIF Evaluation Results

Based on the assessment of the solar rooftop installation and learning promotion initiatives across three target areas in Sakon Nakhon Province—Na Kha Wittaya School, Wat Tha Samran, and the Khua Kai Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO)—the SIF tool has summarized the value-based results and operational efficiency as follows:

1. Financial and Social Value the SIF tool analyzed cost-effective investment by converting social outcomes into Monetary Value:

  • Project Investment: 530,880.69 THB
  • Project Expense: 273,729.72 THB
  • Net Equity Value: 257,150.97 THB (This figure reflects the true positive incremental value accrued to the community and society.)
  • Investment per Headcount: 85,716.99 THB per location

2. Data Assurance Level The project underwent a data reliability verification process (Phase 2), achieving a total score of 83.75%, classified as "Very Good Reliability." The breakdown of the score is as follows:

  • Reliability (25% - Full Score): Data is traceable with clear supporting evidence.
  • Accuracy (20%): Data accurately reflects actual conditions.
  • Completeness (20%): Data covers all key performance indicators.
  • Comparability (18.75%): Currently under development to establish a database for future benchmarking against other projects.

3. Stakeholder Satisfaction Index According to in-depth interviews with community representatives (Phase 3) conducted in accordance with the AA1000APS standard, the project received an evaluation score of 100%, classified as "Excellent," covering all four dimensions:

  • Inclusivity: 25%
  • Materiality: 25%
  • Impact: 25%
  • Responsiveness: 25%

Empirical Results

Beyond the SIF valuation, the project has delivered tangible outcomes in energy and environmental performance:

  • Total Installed Capacity: 17.08 Kilowatts (kW)
  • Electricity Generation: Approximately 21,500 units (kWh) per year
  • Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction: A total reduction of 3,032 kgCO₂e per year (Na Kha Wittaya School: 752 kg, Wat Tha Samran: 517 kg, Khua Kai SAO: 1,763 kg)
  • Expense Reduction: Average electricity cost savings of 11,537 THB per month (Na Kha Wittaya School: 2,863 THB, Wat Tha Samran: 2,020 THB, Khua Kai SAO: 6,654 THB)
