Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Reduction Support Project 2025

Innovation: "Grandpa Serm Grandma Sang"

This innovative project was initiated recognizing the complexities of collecting Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas emissions data within organizations.

Furthermore, it serves as a proactive strategy to prepare for the upcoming Climate Change Act, ensuring the organization can accurately compile and report data to the public. This initiative is a critical step toward achieving our Net Zero Emissions goal by 2050.

“Act Fast, Save More”

The "Grandpa Serm Grandma Sang" project is designed as a tool for human resource development, focusing on enhancing environmental literacy. By helping individuals understand the ecological footprint of their own activities, the project fosters environmental mindfulness, enabling employees to plan and execute greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction strategies effectively.

This initiative directly aligns with SSP’s 3rd Strategy: Knowledge Development and Capacity Building. By preparing for the upcoming Climate Change Act, the Group gains a competitive edge and market advantage within the energy production sector, ensuring the long-term achievement of our corporate sustainability goals.

Furthermore, Grandpa Serm Grandma Sang is a creative, user-friendly innovation that fulfills SSP’s mission. It empowers users to participate in collecting their own Scope 3 GHG data, ensuring precise measurement and personalized reduction plans. Through dynamic collaboration and shared creative input among users, the project builds a solid foundation for the organization’s stable and sustainable long-term growth.

Environmental Impact

  • Comprehensive Carbon Footprint Database: Enhances the organization’s data coverage, with 92% of the total workforce actively participating in collecting Scope 3 data related to employee commuting.
  • Enhanced Goal Setting: Improves the efficiency of GHG reduction targets and strategic planning to mitigate environmental impacts sustainably.
  • Cultivating Low-Carbon Habits: Embeds eco-friendly practices into daily life—such as sustainable commuting, waste reduction, and responsible consumption—to instill a deep-rooted environmental conscience.

Financial & Strategic Impact

  • Enhanced Investor Visibility: Increases attractiveness to ESG-focused investors.
  • Tax Risk Mitigation: Positions the company to reduce potential tax liabilities once the Climate Change Act and associated carbon pricing mechanisms are implemented.
  • Corporate Reputation: Strengthens brand image among environmentally conscious stakeholders and meets the expectations of all stakeholder groups.

Project Progress (2025)

In 2025, the project officially commenced with the collection of Scope 3 data (Employee Commuting). Employees have begun self-reporting essential data, including commuting distances, vehicle types, and fuel consumption. Currently, data is collected via Microsoft Forms to serve as a blueprint for future software development.

  • Current Achievement: Collected data from 109 out of 118 employees, reaching 92% participation.
  • Future Target (2026): We aim to achieve 100% employee participation in Scope 3 data collection.
  • Strategic Goal: Reduce data variance by 20% and implement concrete GHG reduction plans for transportation. This is a vital step toward mitigating carbon tax risks and building long-term investor confidence.
