Strategic Waste Management: "Waste House" Initiative at Winchai Project, Mukdahan

The Group has enhanced its waste management within operational sites by establishing the "Waste House" Initiative at the Winchai Wind Farm in Mukdahan Province. The primary goal is to develop a standardized waste sorting and storage system. This project is designed to encourage operator participation, reduce waste contamination, and recover value from waste materials by reintegrating them into the recycling process—consistent with Circular Economy principles. This initiative represents a significant step toward achieving our Zero Waste to Landfill target.

Operational Approach

  • Infrastructure Development: Established a dedicated and standardized waste storage and sorting facility to ensure that waste management is organized and hygienic.
  • Fostering a Sustainability Culture (Employee Engagement & Awareness): Focuses on building awareness, understanding, and discipline among employees and site personnel regarding waste segregation at the source.
  • Waste-to-Value Creation: Reduces the volume of waste sent for final disposal and increases the proportion of recoverable materials, while generating supplemental income from the sale of recyclables.

Outcomes and Organizational Impact

  • Quantified Waste Reduction: In 2025, the Winchai Project generated a total of 2.35 tons of waste. Following the implementation of the "Waste House" system, the project successfully diverted 0.4 tons of waste for recycling, leading to a tangible reduction in landfill volume.
  • Sustainable Behavioral Change: Employees have developed greater awareness and adjusted their behaviors, making waste segregation a part of their daily routine. This aligns with the integration of Sustainability DNA throughout the organization.
  • EHS Excellence (Environment, Health, and Safety): The establishment of a systematic waste management point has mitigated the issue of scattered waste, resulting in a clean, organized, and hygienic work environment. This further elevates the organization’s corporate image as an environmentally conscious leader.
