SSP Green Space Restoration and Enrichment Project: Enriching Green Areas
Objectives: Promote, develop, and increase green areas within the Group towards "sustainable eco-friendly growth" through the strategy: "POWERING a GREENER SSP FORESTRY."
Green Area Expansion and Carbon Sequestration:
- • Increase tree planting within and around factory areas.
- • Study opportunities for carbon credit creation through afforestation projects.
Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Restoration:
- • Promote planting of native tree species to support ecosystems by selecting planting species based on recommendations from provincial agricultural extension stations for suitability, benefit, and local relevance, avoiding introducing non-native plants to prevent future problems.
- • Monitor wildlife populations to maintain natural balance.
Sustainable Land Use and Responsible Forest Management:
- • Implement land management approaches that prevent deforestation.
- • Restore soil and conserve water sources through afforestation projects.
- • Use environmentally friendly materials in the company's construction projects.
Community Involvement and Environmental Education:
- • Collaborate with schools, community groups, and business partners to organize tree planting activities.
- • Train employees and communities on sustainable forestry practices, raising awareness on tree and forest conservation to mitigate climate change severity.
- • Establish a "Green Ambassador" program to create environmental awareness.
Operating Results:
- • Planted 40 trees in the UPT project area, planting native species mixed with other suitable tree varieties.
- • Organized activities for executives and employees to plant trees in the area together with key partners and local communities.
- • Developed, enhanced, and expanded green areas to support biodiversity through tree planting in the Group's areas.
