Powering A Better Future: A Decade of Driving Sustainable Change

A decade ago, the term “clean energy” was still considered a vision of the distant future—especially in Thailand, where the power generation system heavily depended on fossil fuels. Investing in solar, wind, or biomass energy was a path few dared to take.

However, Sermsang Power chose a more challenging path. The company believed the world was shifting, and renewable energy would become a foundational pillar of the future. We started with small-scale solar power projects in Thailand, emphasizing efficiency, reliability, and designing systems capable of sustainable long-term growth.

Our approach was not simply about building power plants; it was about creating a sustainable, replicable business model aligned with global market trends.

Steady Growth Rooted in Strategic Diversification

From our first project, Sermsang Power expanded investments across diverse energy forms and regions, driven by three core growth pillars:

  1. Diversifying Risk Across Technologies and Geographies
We harness solar, wind, biomass, and rooftop solar power. Our investments span domestic and international markets to mitigate geopolitical risks and energy cost fluctuations.
  2. Balancing Mergers & Acquisitions with Greenfield Projects
Beyond developing new projects from the ground up, Sermsang Power strategically pursues M&A opportunities to seize high-potential business prospects, shorten lead times, and accelerate returns.
In 2024, Sermsang Power acquired full ownership of the 45 MW Winchai Romklao Wind Farm and expanded into new markets such as Taiwan and the Philippines. Upcoming projects include over 200 MW, featuring community waste-to-energy plants, solar farms in Taiwan, and wind farms in the Philippines.
  3. Strategic Governance Through a Holding Company Structure
The parent company directs vision, strategic planning, and risk management, while subsidiaries—both local and overseas—specialize in operations, community relations, and efficient ESG management.

Sustainability as a Core Business Strategy

At Sermsang Power, sustainability is an active strategy embedded in every organizational process. Our key pillars include:

  • Expanding Renewable Energy in All Dimensions
We aim to grow renewable projects covering solar, wind, biomass, and waste energy, with diversified investments both domestically and internationally.
  • Driving Innovation and Green Technologies
Investing in cutting-edge technologies such as Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) for dust control, and upgrading plant efficiency with advanced equipment.
  • Empowering Communities and Society
We prioritize community involvement at project sites by creating jobs, promoting livelihoods, enhancing quality of life, and supporting local initiatives.
  • Enhancing Governance and Transparency
Operating with transparency and accountability, consistently achieving “Excellent” CGR ratings and “AA” ESG ratings from the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
  • Advancing Toward Net Zero by 2050
Committing to a Net Zero target through clean energy investments, green innovation, and carbon emission reduction initiatives.
  • Aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Integrating SDGs into our corporate strategy to ensure sustainable business growth aligned with social and environmental responsibility.

A Culture of Flexibility, Ambition, Innovation, and Responsibility

Sermsang Power’s management exemplifies agility, ambition towards Net Zero, bold innovation, and deep responsibility through our FAIR culture:

  • Flexible: Quickly adapting to technological and social changes, such as developing comprehensive solar rooftop solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Ambitious: Committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050, supported by sustainable financing from IFC and EXIM Bank.
  • Innovative: Pioneering Grid Integration and Carbon Monitoring systems.
  • Responsible: Responsibility is the spirit shared by every employee, continuously trained to connect their work with global ESG goals.

From a National Pioneer to a Regional Energy Leader

By the end of 2024, Sermsang Power operated 122 projects with a combined capacity exceeding 285 PPA eMW. From humble beginnings, the company has grown into a major player in Southeast Asia’s clean energy sector—not only generating electricity but also advising on regional clean energy policies.

The next milestone is not merely increasing capacity but building a comprehensive renewable energy network that seamlessly connects power plants, transmission systems, and net monitoring technologies.
